Privacy policy

Roman Perfumes (“we”) runs this website and the shop in Qaisar Bagh, Lucknow. This policy explains what personal data we collect through the website, why, who else handles it, how long we keep it and the rights you have under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. We collect only what we need to handle your order or enquiry.

What we collect

• When you place an order: your name, mobile number, delivery address, city, state and PIN code, the items you chose, and, if you give them, your email address and a note.
• When you message us on WhatsApp: whatever you choose to send. WhatsApp is run by Meta under its own privacy policy.
• Your bag: stored only in your own browser so it is still there when you come back. We do not receive it until you place an order.
• Technical data: like every website, our server briefly records your IP address to keep the site secure (for example, to block repeated attacks). We do not use it to identify or profile you.

We do not collect card numbers, UPI PINs, bank details, passwords or government ID numbers through this website.

Why we use it

To confirm, prepare, deliver and support your order, to reply to your enquiries, to keep records the law requires (such as GST records), and to protect the website from misuse. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising or share it with marketers. By placing an order you consent to this use; you can withdraw consent at any time (see “Your rights”).

Who else handles it

We use a small number of service providers, only to run the shop:

• Our web hosting provider, which runs this website.
• Our database provider, which stores order records. Its servers may be outside India; transfers follow the DPDP Act.
• WhatsApp (Meta), when you choose to message us.
• Google Maps, only if you choose to open the map on our contact page.
• When we deliver an order, the courier receives your name, phone number and address.

We share data with authorities only when Indian law requires it.

How long we keep it

Order records are kept for as long as we need them to serve you and for as long as Indian tax and accounting law requires. After that they are deleted. Enquiries you send on WhatsApp stay in that chat.

How we protect it

The website uses an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Order data sits in a password-protected database. Our staff area needs a login ID and password, and attempts to guess it are blocked automatically. Only people who need order details to serve you can see them. If a breach ever affects your data, we will inform you and the Data Protection Board of India as the law requires.

Cookies

We use no advertising or tracking cookies. See our cookie policy for the little the site stores.

Children

This website is meant for adults. If you are under 18, please ask a parent or guardian to place the order.

Your rights

Under the DPDP Act you can:

• ask what personal data we hold about you and how we use it;
• ask us to correct, complete or update it;
• ask us to erase it, unless the law requires us to keep it;
• withdraw your consent for future use;
• nominate someone to exercise these rights for you; and
• complain to us, and if you are not satisfied, to the Data Protection Board of India.
